Dirty dirty ganja, but i'm getting better at twisting em up. My youngest brother is in town until Sunday, so I will cook for him on Thursday. I'm leaning twords some cilantro lime shrimp, grilled up nice, and served with a fresh fruit and cucumber salsa, and perhaps a I will hollow out a mirliton and make a puree of that and some garlic, shallot, peppers, cilantro, lime and lemon juice and zest, then pipe it back in the Mirliton skin and bake it Gratin style, but as of now, im still working on ideas.

I realized a while back that I don't really write in this journal anymore, as I really don't have much to say, so I have decided to convert it to simply being dedicated to cooking as far as recipes, ideas, menus, photos of dishes, etc. If this is not to your liking or interest I apologize, but since I am fairly sure this isn't really read that much, it shouldn't be too much of a worry.

Sunday night I Sauteed some leeks that were done in a fine chiffonade, with some balsamic tossed shaved water chestnuts. A little bit of unsalted butter, toss in the leeks and let them roll for a bit, then when they pick up the first nice hints of color, i tossed in the chestnuts that were tossed in a mixture of balsamic vinegar and sesame seeds, as well as a bit of salt and pepper. Shallots and garlic finely minced were started the flavor base, and it came out nice, with a sweet and tangy crunch to accompany the nice buttery leeks. I served it with an haricot vert and caramelized onion risotto, and some nice sauteed vegetables. There were supposed to be rib-eyes as well, but my friend was drunk and asleep, so it was vegetarian night. Good shit I must say.
